Important Information for Approved Buyers

The S!TE 2026 Semi-Hosted Buyer Programme is designed for qualified travel trade professionals, buyers, travel writers, bloggers and media representatives who wish to connect with Tanzania’s tourism suppliers and experience the destination first-hand.

Introduction

The Tanzania Tourist Board is pleased to invite qualified international trade professionals to participate in the 9th Edition of the Swahili International Tourism Expo, S!TE 2026, taking place from 21 to 23 October 2026 at the Mlimani City Conference Centre in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

S!TE 2026 will bring together exhibitors, international buyers, travel professionals and tourism media through high-value business appointments, industry seminars and structured networking sessions.

To be considered for the Semi-Hosted Buyer Programme, applicants are required to submit their completed application to site.buyers@tanzaniatourism.go.tz.

Benefits Provided to Semi-Hosted Buyers

  • Return airport transfers between the international airport, partner hotels, the expo venue and official S!TE 2026 events.
  • Accommodation in designated partner hotels for the duration of the expo and any included Familiarization trips.
  • Access to the official online appointment platform for pre-scheduled one-on-one business meetings with exhibitors.
  • Complimentary refreshments and beverages at official S!TE 2026 functions, including the dedicated Buyers’ Lounge.
  • Access to selected tourism sites in Tanzania through officially organized post-event FAM trip programmes.
  • Opportunity to connect directly with Tanzania’s tourism suppliers, exhibitors and destination representatives.

Obligations of Approved Buyers

  • Purchase a return air ticket to and from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, at the buyer’s own expense.
  • Submit all required documentation within the deadlines provided by the organizers.
  • Submit a confirmed return flight itinerary reflecting the selected FAM trip option where applicable.
  • Provide a current company profile outlining the nature, scope and market reach of the business.
  • Submit a recent colour professional photograph for accreditation and official programme purposes.
  • Comply with all visa and entry requirements for Tanzania and any FAM trip extensions.
  • Attend the expo on all three exhibition days from 09:00 to 17:00, unless advised otherwise in writing.
  • Schedule and attend a minimum of twenty-five pre-arranged business meetings with exhibitors.
  • Attend official events and functions listed in the approved Semi-Hosted Buyer Programme.

Terms and Conditions

Eligibility

  • Open to registered travel trade professionals, tour operators, travel agents, destination management companies, travel writers and accredited media representatives.
  • Applicants must be active in the tourism industry and hold valid professional credentials.
  • TTB reserves the final right to approve or decline any application.

Selection Process

  • Selection is based on business relevance, geographic market representation and completeness of the application.
  • Only complete applications with required supporting documents will be considered.
  • Applicants will be notified through official written communication from TTB.

Cancellation Policy

  • Approved buyers who withdraw after confirmation must notify TTB in writing as early as possible.
  • TTB may recover costs already incurred on behalf of the buyer, including hotel and transport bookings.
  • TTB is not liable for travel costs, flight penalties or losses caused by programme changes or force majeure events.

Conduct and Compliance

  • All participants must conduct themselves professionally and respectfully throughout all S!TE 2026 activities.
  • TTB may revoke accreditation for disruptive, unprofessional or inappropriate conduct.
  • Participants must follow all health, safety and security protocols at the venue and during FAM trips.

Data Protection and Privacy

  • Submitted personal data will be used by TTB for administering the S!TE 2026 Semi-Hosted Buyer Programme.
  • Relevant contact details may be shared with official event partners, exhibitors and co-organizers for event-management purposes.
  • Images captured during the event may be used for promotional and archival purposes unless the applicant objects in writing before attending.

Liability and Governing Law

  • Participants are responsible for adequate travel insurance covering medical emergencies, trip cancellation and loss of personal effects.
  • TTB is not liable for disruption or loss caused by events outside its direct control.
  • The programme is governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.
