Mafia Island FAM Trip Itinerary

The itinerary below follows the revised S!TE 2026 post-event FAM Trip dates from 26th to 29th October 2026.

Day 1 26th Oct 2026

Arrival in Mafia Island

  • Flight from Dar es Salaam to Mafia Island.
  • Transfer to accommodation for room allocation and check-in.
  • Relaxation at the lodge and introduction to Mafia Island.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at selected accommodation.
Day 2 27th Oct 2026

Whale Shark Watching

  • Early morning preparation for whale shark watching excursion.
  • Boarding and guided marine excursion.
  • Trip duration expected to be approximately 3 to 4 hours.
  • Return to the hotel or lodge for relaxation.
  • Evening dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3 28th Oct 2026

Beach, Marine and Island Experience

  • Breakfast at the lodge or hotel.
  • Explore selected beach, marine or island tourism experiences.
  • Optional guided visit to local coastal attractions, subject to programme arrangement.
  • Relaxation and networking with tourism partners.
  • Dinner and overnight stay on Mafia Island.
Day 4 29th Oct 2026

Departure from Mafia Island

  • Breakfast and check-out from accommodation.
  • Transfer to Mafia Airport.
  • Return flight to Dar es Salaam or onward travel arrangements.
  • End of Mafia Island FAM Trip experience.
