Nyerere National Park is Africa’s largest national park that offer truly African wilderness experience. It borders Selous Game Reserve and the famous Ruins of Kilwa Kisiwani and Songo Mnara all of these with World Heritage Site status of the UNESCO and best places to visit. Visitors to Ruins of Kilwa Kisiwani and Songo Mnara discover one of the oldest ports of East Africa with rich history that takes back in time to 13th century. An opportunity to proceed to enjoy nature at the oldest lowland Coastal forests of Pugu Hills, recognized for its rich biodiversity, primate species and diverse water birds, spectacular hills for hiking and attractive small lake for canoeing. You can embark on game drive, boat ride with floating hippos on the mighty Rufiji River, canoeing, walking safaris as well as bird watching.

DAY 1: Monday

  • Early breakfast at your Dar es Salaam Hotel and leave for Nyerere National Park via Kazimzumbwi Forest in Kisarawe.
  • Spend your glorious time participating in eco-tourism activities in the forest where one will embark on Nature walk, canoeing, bird watching, cultural tourism activities of the local tribes and enjoy a breathtaking view of the Dar city and Indian Ocean from a vantage point of the forest. After your picnic lunch, proceed driving to Nyerere through a scenic road
  • Dinner & Overnight at your lodge in Nyerere National Park

DAY 2: Tuesday – Nyerere NP Full day

 

  • After Breakfast- start an early morning game drive in Nyerere National Park by visiting Lake Manze, the mighty Rufiji River, hippo pools and oxbow lakes and sandy river banks rich in birdlife as well as semi aquatic creatures; hippos and crocodiles.
  • Enjoy your lunch in the bush under magnificent Baobab or fig trees. After lunch, proceed with game drive or retire to your lodge and take a late evening boat ride on Rufiji River to enjoy the closer view of floating hippos, crocodiles, water birds and sunset just to mention a few.
  • Overnight at your lodge in Nyerere National Park.

DAY 3: Wednesday

 

  • Enjoy your breakfast at the lodge/Camp
  • Drive to Kilwa Ruins, located at the shows of the Indian Ocean. Embark on Kilwa ruins tour, old mosque and remains of old buildings, signifying existence of Swahili, Arabs, German, British and Indian culture     
  • Enjoy your lunch by the beach under a Baobab tree, proceed to the hippo pool and explore local culture of the village. In the evening, enjoy dinner
  • Overnight at Kilwa

12.10.2023

DAY 4: Thursday

 

  • After breakfast, embark on boat drive to explore kilwa marine Eco system to get a closer view coral reefs and mangrove forest
  • After boat drive to Dar es Salaam for Dinner and overnight in Dar es salaam

13.10.2023

DAY5: Friday

 

  • After breakfast, depending on your departure time; embark on Dar city tour to the National Museum, Makonde Village, Tingatinga Centre and the Village Museum
  • After lunch, proceed to Julius Nyerere International Airport for departure

Take Note:

This tour shall end in Dar es Salaam hence advised that your international departure flight be through Julius Nyerere International Airport on 13th October 2023.
